[New Song] Chrisette Michele - Steady

Chrisette Michele's latest release comes as a surprise in the midst of the hype of her new title fiancé. "STEADY" speaks of the 10 year run in the music industry with labels Def Jam and Motown, and now her very own imprint, Rich Hipster signed to Capitol/Caroline records.

With the new found freedom of running her own record label, Miss Michele releases her first Trap Soul record. She makes reference to the Porsche she's seen driving off the set of her reality TV show "R&B Divas LA" and the re-kindled relationship between herself and Four Kings CEO Doug "Biggs" Ellison. The track is produced by Blckie Blaze of Four Kings Productions.

"I'm ready to play. I miss being a choreographer. I miss my leather pants. I miss being excited. I love my ballads and there will be some in this new album, Milestone, but it's time to let my hair down and step outside of the box. I can't wait to share."

Concert Review:: Floetry Reunion Tour 2015

When Floetry speaks, the cool people listen! Not since 2006 has The Floacist (Natalie Stewart) and Marsha Ambrosius been united on tour to form the group Floetry.  The 2015 reunion tour made a stop in Columbus Ohio at the LC Pavilion and for true fans of the group, did not disappoint.

Columbus, OH:: Floetry Reunion Concert at the LC Pavilion

floetryex

After a 10 year hiatus, the five time Grammy-nominated duo, FLOETRY are extremely excited for their 18-city U.S. tour this summer and giving special performances at the Essence Music Festival and the Spirit Festival. The tour will commence in Cleveland, OH on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, and will end Sunday, July 19, 2015 in New York City.

Before their split in 2005, the English-soul group sold over 1.5 million albums and were considered to be the most promising neo-soul team at the time. While still maintaining a friendship, both creatives released multiple solo projects. Natalie "the Floacist" Stewart released 3 studio recorded albums. Marsha "the Songstress" Ambrosius went on to release two mixtapes and two studio albums, which resulted in three Grammy nominations.

Raheem DeVaughn Turns Up The Heat In ‘Temperature’s Rising’ Video

Raheem DeVaughn, the self-proclaimed "R&B Hippie Neo-Soul Rock Star" takes us back to the ’90s R&B in his hot new video for “Temperature’s Rising.” This slow jam which is one of my favorites from his newest release Love Sex Passion is an interpolation of R. Kelly’s “It Seems Like You’re Ready” from the classic 12 Play album.

D'Angelo and The Vanguard performing 'The Charade' and 'Really Love' on SNL

D'Angelo performed two songs off his highly anticipated album Black Messiah “Really Love" and "The Charade" on Saturday Night Live. For the latter, D'Angelo appeared on stage that had a chalked outline of a body, wearing a black hoodie, a tribute to Trayvon Martin, while his band, The Vanguard, was clad in black T-shirts emblazoned with the phrases "Black Lives Matter" and "I Can't Breathe" — slogans of a national response to the deaths of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and others. In the chorus, he sings: "All we wanted was a chance to talk/ 'Stead we only got outlined in chalk/ Feet have bled a million miles we've walked/ Revealing at the end of the day, the charade."

Brittany NaCole - Daydream

Brittany NaCole from the Columbus and Chicago areas will put you in the mind of an earlier E. Badu, not necessarily in the voice, but her flow, writing, and style. My favs are 'The Jigg Iz Up', 'Strung Out' and 'The Shore', which is a slower tempo, but not your normal love song. The drums on that chorus are whoa.

The music is solid and she's able to utilize her vocals perfectly with the beats. Check it out, it's good music.
